13 Fashion Rules We Learned From Jenna Lyons
It was recently announced that Jenna Lyons, former Creative Director of JCrew, would be leaving her post at the fashion retailers helm. An era was ending and for many of us who came to our fashion maturity during her reign in the fashion world she shaped our view of what the ‘Rules of Fashion’ were and how to navigate them. Through her styling for JCrew and her own personal style statements she conveyed her unwavering opinion that this was a new era of fashion. I remember buying my first statement lipsticks, Nars Funny Face & Nars Heatwave after seeing them used in a brilliant JCrew campaign where the non-reds popped…

Seattle to London: A Fashion Blogger’s Whirlwind London Travel Guide
At the end of March I was fortunate enough to accompany 5 other bloggers from the Seattle area to travel to London, experience the city and then be on board Virgin Atlantic’s celebratory inaugural flight from London to Seattle. London Volume 2: Glitter Boots, Candy-Colored Houses and Portobello Road
It may be a universally acknowledged truth that you can’t visit London without taking a stop on Portobello Road in Notting Hill. Mind you if you are like us and you stop there on the weekend you are likely to find quite a few tourist (we were ourselves tourists so to my point..) but it is absolutely worth the visit. Shops are plentiful and on a sunny day the street is like a candy store for your eyes, the perfect backdrop for a sweet and sassy look from ASOS. More of the neighborhood itself will be covered in the upcoming London trip recap but for now we can all just…

London Volume 1: Shoreditch, Banksy and a Denim Boilersuit
Oh London! How I adore you! In this first edition of reviewing my London travels I wanted to talk about Shoreditch, a hip part of East London that is oozing with style. We only had the privilege of spending an afternoon here but I am sure I could have spend an entire week there. First, graffiti: this is a pervasive part of London culture and with underground graffiti artists now mainstream this is the cool thing to have in your neighborhood. While on foot in Shoreditch we stumbled across an original Banksy, now covered so that it can be preserved for posterity. We also has a Banksy shop next to…

Fashion & Architecture: Why the Background for Your Photos is SO Important
They say that travel is the most inspiring thing you do in your life and I would have to agree! I just got back from a whirlwind trip to London with Virgin Atlantic and even in the span of our short trip I have seen so much and consequently learned a great deal as well. The architecture and design in London were amazing, from historic buildings to new construction and everything in between. It probably helped that I was also traveling with impressive lifestyle bloggers Joanna from jojotastic.com and Cassandra from cocokelley.com but I found myself observing and photographing buildings interiors in a way I never had before which got…
