Ethereal Florals Meet Menswear: Part 1
There is nothing more feminine than an ethereal, flowing floral dress that catches the light and billows about you when you walk. Zara did a full line of dresses this past summer with various crochet and asymmetrical details telling us that the trend is just beginning. These are dreamy florals in washed out colors with subtle knife pleating that plays with the light and the shadows. This trend is so feminine with its semi sheer almost night gown feeling style that I had no choice but to throw a menswear inspired structured coat over it. They simply worked too perfectly together. This camel coat inspired by a traditional man’s overcoat with…

The 3 Things You Need For a Perfectly Polished Look: 80’s (wannabe) Supermodel Edition
Sometimes the word ‘polished’ gets a bad rap. The connotations of ‘stuffy’ and ‘boring’ pop into our head when polished can really mean pulled together and a whole lot of fun. In today’s look we are exploring those same 3 key items, the Brixton Fiddler, a great pair of boots and an oversized coat. Today though we are in full 80’s supermodel mode channeling Linda Evangelista in our ‘are you sure that’s a dress?’ Apple vintage sweatshirt and maximalist details. 3 Key Pieces can mean 3 basic items or 3 Not At All Basic items and today we are embracing the latter. This Topshop coat reminds us of a Chanel…

The 3 Things You Need For a Perfectly Polished Look: Part 1
I am in love with Gilda Ambrosio (google her) an Italian fashionista blazing trails in street style and in the fashion world in general. In a recent street style shot she wore only 3 things in her outfit: a newsboy cap, knee high boots and an oversized coat showing that these 3 items are all you need to create a polished, go-anywhere look. This week we are exploring this concept with 3 outfits utilizing these 3 items to see if you truly can make a stellar outfit out of these basic elements. So far it is looking quite promising. Urban Evening 3
Who ever thought that a sweatshirt could be evening wear? Thanks to Vetements, a sweatshirt can now be your entire outfit. The phenomenon of this French breakout label can’t be ignored especially when the queen herself, Celine Dion in an exceptionally meta moment dons the Vetements Titantic sweatshirt for a jaunt about town. The irony is real and so is the iconography so don’t expect this trend to be going anywhere anytime soon. For our third evening look we are breaking all the rules: a sweatshirt is our evening item paired with a basic black skirt that every girl has in her closet. Statement crystal and gold earrings show you…

Urban Evening 2
In the age of Anything Goes fashion you no longer need permission to mix things up and breathe new life into pieces that have become lackluster in your closet. The mini dress which may seem uninspired as evening wear becomes cutting edge over a pair of leather flares. You may not need permission to make a statement at your next evening gathering but trendsetters like Margaret Zhang and street style stars everywhere have already blazed the trail for you regarding this trend, lighting the way to standout fashion.
