2 of NYFW’s Hottest Trends: Pink & Red + Colorful Suiting
Every year when we pack for Fashion Week we try to pick looks that are on-trend for the up and coming season. Since trends are set as much on the streets these days as they are in the shows, being a part of that trend setting is something we all aspire to. This year at NYFW there were several major trends outside the shows but one dominated them all: suiting. As it happens Jenn from Hello Rigby and I ended up embodying two majors fashion week trends and here’s how. Colorful Suiting The first trend is suiting. Bike Shorts: The Hottest Trend for NYFW & How to Wear Them
When fashion month began in Europe in August I had a hunch that bike shorts would be the hottest trend for Fall, but I think I underestimated how big it was going to be. New York Fashion week starts this week and already I can tell this is going to be the IT-trend on the streets outside the shows. Say hello to clashing prints. In past years I have talked about anchoring a mixed print look, be it by color or print style, but this year we need a different strategy.…

Growing up I was a ballet dancer. My ideal physical aesthetic was long and lean and lacking in curves. Luckily for me nature had different plans for me so after leaving ballet and going to college I grew these magical things called curves. Hello Booty. It has taken me most of my adult life to reconcile the fact that I am not ‘naturally thin’ but with the help of a loving husband who thinks my curves are amazing, I have embraced them. But the one thing harder than embracing a curvier figure is this: finding jeans that fit and flatter said curves. There have been a wave of jean brands…

Why Graphic Tees are a Cornerstone of My Wardrobe
Prior to leaving the corporate fashion world there was always one category in my closet that was neglected: blouses. I have nothing against blouses, in fact they are some of my longest-owned pieces of clothing but I rarely buy new ones. After leaving the world of traditional 9-5’s my desire to buy new blouses has tanked even more since I am generally in a more casual environment. What has replaced them you ask? Graphic tees. I have gone on about my love for graphic tees in the past, but they have become a cornerstone in my wardrobe over the past year. One of the reasons I love them so much…
