3 Things I Am Doing Differently This Year at NYFW
It’s almost here! One of my absolute favorite times of the year, New York Fashion week! It may seem far away with an entire month to go but when you are planning for fashion week, this is crunch time. While I have been deep in planning mode both from outfits to events I realized I have learned a lot in the past year. I attended two New York Fashion weeks with two very different types of people and I learned a lot. Here’s what I am doing differently this year. Collaboration over Competition: Meet People! This is such a tagline for so many people but it really shouldn’t be. At…

Get the Look: Copenhagen Fashion Week
Fashion month has officially started and I couldn’t be more excited! Traditionally Copenhagen Fashion Week kicks off the month for me as a slew of Scandi style proceeds the ever inspiring New York Fashion week. I love that it is Copenhagen that the city brings out is SO inspiring. Why I Love Scandi Style As with design we used to think of Scandinavian style as clean lines and a minimal color palette with perhaps an architectural flair but over the years this has changed drastically. Nowadays Scandinavian fashion often means bold colors, bold prints and of course avante guard silhouettes. What makes their style stand apart as well is the…

Why Influencers Have Become an Important Part of Fashion Week
Fashion week has changed immensely over the years. What once was reserved for the select few has now become accessible to everyone through the miracle of the internet. This lack of exclusivity has come under under attack recently as designers turn up their nose to the concept of showing their collections to everyone but the chosen few. This is a massive mistake in my opinion, and here is why. What Fashion Week Used to Be Like Before the age of instagram if you wanted to watch a fashion show you had two options: go to the show, or wait for it to be posted on Style.com (now Vogue Runway.) As…

Trend Report: The Year of the White Ankle Boot
The White Ankle Boot It started this last Spring outside of the Fall 17 shows: a crisp white, completely impractical in the streets of NYC the unbelievably crisp white leather boot. I you have been to NYC recently especially in inclimate weather you know that a white clad foot or leg is a recipe for commuting disaster yet season after season this trend keeps going strong. The white boot was popular in winter time heading into Spring, but for NYWF SS18 this trend wasn’t just popular it was EVERYWHERE solidifying for us that undeniably, the white ankle boot is the shoe you need to turn heads as we head into…

The Last day of NYFW: Bite Beauty & Will Chavarria
The Final Day Our last day at New York Fashion Week involved zero shows, which was actually pretty magical since we actually had time to explore the city, have a few adventures and barely make it to the airport in time for our flight. AKA a perfect New York City day. Bite Beauty Bar Our first stop was the Bite Beauty Bar to make custom lipsticks, an idea that was the brainchild of my beauty blogger companion for the trip Jenn Haskins. We opted for completely custom lipsticks which requires that you make two. I opted for a nude and a berry with the berry being the elusive color I…
