Days 3 & 4 of NYFW SS18: Vivianne Tam,
Day 3 Day three of NYFW started off a little slower than usual since I was feeling QUITE under the weather by this point. I also had run out of clothes which is something after packing 2 suitcases I thought would be impossible, yet here we were. The solution was an early morning trip to & Other Stories to stock up which meant t-shirts, tops (I never by tops!!) and dresses were on the docket. I only ended up adding a t-shirt to my pre-planned look for the day but it was definitely a needed addition. The Shows Vivienne Tam was the largest show that I went to this year…

Days 2 of NYFW SS18: Pink Dresses, Chillhouse & the Rewardstyle Rooftop Party
Day 2 NYFW SS18 Runa Ray Our second day of fashion week kicked off bright and early with the Runa Ray show. A nature-inspired collection the fabrics were delicate and in places sheer, another trend we kept seeing on the runway. The most impactful moment of course was the very last dress which read ‘Imagination is the only weapon against reality.’ As someone who blogs about Fashion for a living I can appreciate that escapism mentality where we cling to our art as our outlet from the world. * Photocredit : http://carolinastylemag.com Brunch & The Streets of NYC Sadly breakfast actually ended up being after our first show as we…

Dear New York Fashion Week,
Dear New York Fashion week, You are finally here! I can’t tell you exactly the year I started stalking you but I can tell you that it happily coincided with my discovering Style.com (RIP) and their almost-live coverage. I used to love that photos got uploaded before the editorial commentary so I had room to make my own judgements and conjure up my own references before reading about how I ‘should have experienced it.’ Granted this was before social media coverage and long before video based social coverage. This was back when style on the streets outside fashion week was personal, not profitable. Did you ever notice how the…

How to Incorporate Runway Style into Your Everyday look: The Power of the Waist Belt
Australian fashion week just started and if you know me you know I love the high fashion shows. They are inspiring, get you to think differently about your wardrobe and introduce you to new trends. What is more challenging is finding a way to translate runway style into your everyday look and that is where accessories, like the waist belt, can be incredibly powerful. Buying new clothing is expensive and we really all only have so much room in our closet so a piece that can transform an entire look is worth it’s weight in gold. That’s why I LOVE accessories and the resurgence of the waist belt is a…
