How I Failed at Being a Full Time Fashion Blogger
How to fail at being a full time fashion blogger. Yes, that is the title of this blog post and that is exactly what this post is about. No, there isn’t some hidden secret about how to reverse that failure, nor am I mad about it. I have been crafting this post in my head for months now and I am so excited to finally share it with you. The Beginning To start let’s rewind. Roughly 21 months ago I left my corporate job to help my husband run his business (he is in the military) and to focus my fashion blog full time. I had my content calendar planned…

How to Wear a Maxi Dress in Winter
Long dresses get a bad rap, especially in the winter. In the summer we embrace them as a breezy alternative to pants but once the weather turns we pack them away in the back of our closet. Unless of course they are an ‘evening’ style of dress and then we bust them out for our 1 formal event of the year. Maxi dresses don’t seem to fit into our normal perspective of what fits in your every day wardrobe, but I would like to challenge that. I have been doing a lot of winter floral posts this season and this dress fits the category perfectly. A dark background with contrasting…

Tweed for a Casual Holiday Outfit
It’s that time of year, the trees are getting trimmed, we are all checking the clouds for a certain white precipitation and holiday music is being played everywhere you go. Yup, it’s the holiday season. Dressing for holiday parties seems like it should be easy, throw on something covered in sequins and you are good to go. Which is why I would like to present one of my favorite fabrics for a not-too-festive holiday look: tweed. Like most fashionistas when I think tweed I think of Chanel. There is something luxurious about the…

Welcome Back Neon, Just in Time for Winter
Oh neon, how I love your highlighter bright hues. My love affair with neon started one infamous Fall/Winter season when Michael Kors famously introduced neon to his normally neutral runway. Ever since that 2009 collection sumptuous green neon knits and solid colored fur trapper hats have always been something that for me, never goes out of style. Unfortunately that’s not how trends work though so I was thrilled this season when neon for winter came back into style. This year’s neon trend is a bit different than than my over the top favorites of the past. Rather than doing head-to-toe neon this year is more about subtlety. Neon layers and…

The Printed Suit You Need this Fall
I love a good suit. You can wear it as all one look or break it up into pieces. Having ‘too many blazers’ has never been a problem that anyone laments suffering from. This fall the suiting trend is still going strong and now we have some even more creative styles that you absolutely need in your closet. Chloe Inspired Just when you thought you had seen it all there is always a new trend. We had bright colored suits, pastel suits, wide leg suits and short suits and then Chloe designer Natacha Ramsay-Levi came out with a new version. She introduced a printed suit made of velvet covered in horses.…
