That also means time to dig out the warmer weather clothing and bare some skin that hasn’t seen the sun in far too long. While I am thrilled that the weather is turning, I must admit I haven’t really done my Spring shopping yet and it will probably take me a while to fully build that lighter wardrobe, so having a few staples trusty staples carried over from last season is a must.

The first staple is these faux leather jogging shorts. If you don’t have a pair of loose faux leather shorts I highly recommend them as a great dressy, cool alternative to the usual more casual denim. The looseness is key however because you don’t want them to stick to you and make you sweat. Also you also want them to be comfortable and appropriate for daytime wear which is why this dolphin cut is so versatile. I purchased this pair from Forever 21 last year but you can find similar pairs that wont break the bank here and here.

Another of my favorite transition staples is my holy white Volcom T-shirt. I discovered this recently at Nordstrom.com and purchased both white and gray sight unseen since they were a less expensive version of an IRO t-shirt that I loved. Since then I have worn this holy number all too frequently as it is the perfect easy shirt for under a jacket or standing alone in a casual situation. Mind you I recommend a nude tank underneath if you are seeing your parents or even wearing it to work (if your workplace is casual enough) but this t-shirt adds that effortless ‘cool’ factor to any outfit and really is an outfit staple as the seasons change.
