Personal Style: Declaring My 2017 Uniform
There’s a huge push after the New Year to redefine yourself, be it physically, financially or even stylistically. This year my goals were the opposite: instead of becoming something different I wanted to hone in on what was working already especially when it comes to personal style. Looking back throughout 2016 I saw a very consistent pattern of things that I love wearing that not only feel on trend and relevant but also feel 100% me. Which brings me to my 2017 uniform. This Topshop coat reminds us of a Chanel…

Last week we talked about the western hat being paired with a modern look that was on-trend but had the hat as an element of the look rather than the steering element. Today we will be flipping that idea on it’s head and going whole hog-western style. That means fringe, and lots of it.

How to Wear the Trend: The Western Hat Round 1
Hats are absolutely everywhere these days from Beyonce music videos to the streets outside fashion week. The ‘Western’ style seems to be the prevailing hat style of the moment making them a perfect for Coachella but slightly more difficult for everyday wear. It is tempting to embrace the western style ‘whole-hog:’ pairing it with fringe and suede then voila you are ready for a rodeo . However, as fun as that can be (see Wednesday’s upcoming post) that isn’t necessary in order to wear a western hat. Today we will look at how to style a western hat with everyday casual wear.
