Why This Sweatshirt from P.E. Nation Needs to Be in Your Wardrobe

There is a rare occasion when a label started under  one specific clothing category successfully transitions to another. P.E. Nation, a favorite of mine (as you probably know from many recent posts) has done this so successfully that I no longer need to write posts about mixing your athleisure with your normal wardrobe, they now ARE your normal wardrobe. In today’s look my oh so chic sweatshirt with beautiful color blocking and just a hint of subtle branding is one of the latest pieces from P.E. Nation and the styling couldn’t be more current or on trend. Athleisure may no longer be as relevant as it once was but what…

Embracing Fall Colors While They Are Still Here

November is wrapping itself up, leaves are changing and winter is fast approaching. What a better time than now to embrace your favorite fall colors and start dressing head to toe in the color of the changing leaves? One of my favorite things to do each fall is to wear monochromatic or tonal looks that match the way Seattle looks in the Fall. It always feels so fresh and appropriate and with the lingering 70’s trends lending us warm mustard, rust colors and every shade of brown one can imagine it’s easy to create this kind of look out of what you currently have in your wardrobe. You will notice…

Escaping to Warmer Climates: A Seattleite’s Take on Her First Traveling Warm Weather Fall

Happy November! Every year I watch Seattleites complain about our Fall/Winter grayness and talk about their planned escapes to warmer climates but I had never actually partaken in this season migration until this year. To level set, none of my travels had any motivation around the weather however in the past month I have found myself getting a tan in Arizona and now central Mexico while my contemporaries brave the rain and the wind and of course the crisp fall air of Washington. Another thing you should know, I LOVE the Fall season in Seattle. As a born and bred Washingtonian I love the first week I get to pull…

Blush: The Breakout Color of the Year

Every year when Pantone announces their colors of the year I close one eye and hold my breath PRAYING that it will be an universally flattering shade like Berry or Navy. This year however I was slightly mortified to hear pastel blue and pink were taking center stage. If you are someone with olive skin coloring like myself nothing could look worse on you then a pastel blue or even worse, a pastel pink. So I tore up the rule book and decided to completely ignore the Pantone rules this year until a strange thing started happening in street fashion. Blush started appearing everyone, not ‘baby pink.’ This slightly yellow…

3 Tips for Wearing a Bodysuit Like a Boss

If you had told me a year ago that I would be buying bodysuits left and right and LOVING them I probably would have laughed and told you that sure, I love the 80’s but we all have our limits!!… and I would have wrong. This Zara floral number is what begrudgingly convinced me to try the trend. It was such a pretty top and LORD HELP US it had basically underwear attached. Perhaps I should have seen this coming though as I am a huge fan of the ‘ditch the bra and wear a shirt open down to there’ showing off lots of rib cage trend, one of the…
