Next Level Winter Layers: Moody Florals

Fall is decidedly here in Washington. The leaves have changed color, the wind has picked up and all of us are digging out our winter sweaters. Despite this I am somehow apposed to breaking out my winter coats JUST yet. Instead I have had to get a bit more creative with my layering techniques to stay warm and fashionable. I am re-purposing other floral pieces by layering them to create a moody floral look that’s perfect for fall and winter. Moody Florals Floral print in the Spring may not be that groundbreaking but there is a heavy influence of moody, winter floral print this year. To me that doesn’t necessarily…

Fall 2017 Runway to Real Way: The Return of 80’s Power Dressing

Flat Top Sunglasses | Zara Sweatshirt | Zara Pants (similar HERE) | Vintage Coat (similar HERE) Fashion week is a funny thing: showing fashions out of sync with the actual season that you are in, which makes since for the buy cycle of retailers but is often frustrating for the rest of us. The dress in today’s look is…

    Weekly Wishlist: Color & Texture

This week’s wishlist is evidence of the season’s transitions as we long for Spring yet have to face the frozen reality that is still winter for at least a month or two more. I am definitely craving color and texture in my wardrobe and outerwear is the best way to find it with the weather being the way it is. Topshop seems to be dominating the $150 and under footwear scene and there are more than one of their new styles on my wishlist (plus I really want those chelsea boots in both white AND gold!) While I love my steals such as this insane H&M sequined bomber, which feels…

Casual Friday in (Wannabe) Isabel Marant & Leather Pants

`Leather pants: one of the symbols of Rock & Roll, the easiest way to make an outfit edgy and cool, are also AMAZING in the winter because they are so stinking warm! Ok I may not be able to pull of the Rock & Roll cool factor but Isabel Marant’s latest Spring runway show demonstrated that leather belongs to the futuristic boho chicks in all of us and I couldn’t wait to get on board.
